Things are progressing well with the Chaz and Strawberry app. I have all costumes for Chaz and Strawberry in, and able to be selected. I am in the middle of putting in Maddie's costumes. After that I will have to put the costumes into the dance party on the characters.
The dance party has a number of moving and grooving background characters that I had a lot of fun making. This includes the dancing lemon I shared last week.
I also animated all of the characters' faces while they wait to be dressed in the dressing room. These extra touches make the app feel more lively, and I think it will make for a fun result.
My alpha play testers, ages 4 and 6, love creating costume combinations. They helped come up with concept costumes ideas, and now enjoy putting incongruent pieces together to create new costumes. They also enjoy completing each new outfit once it is in and working on each character. The younger of my boys gives each new combination a name, like Chaz wearing a flannel shirt and holding the stuffed dog and fish is “Jammy Banana.” The first full screen shot I would like to share with you today is his “Strawberry Battle Bunny,” a combination of bunny, pirate, and superhero.
